Parts Specialist

About the Role

As a full-time Parts Specialist, you're the automotive knowledge hub on the floor. You'll combine product expertise with genuine customer service to connect people with the parts they need—whether that's a regular maintenance item, a specialized component, or an emergency replacement. This role sits at the heart of Oreillyauto's retail operation, where product accuracy, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency go hand in hand.

Responsibilities

• Help customers identify and locate the correct parts for their vehicles, asking clarifying questions about make, model, year, and specific needs
• Provide knowledgeable advice on part compatibility, installation difficulty, and alternatives when applicable
• Process sales transactions using our point-of-sale system with attention to accuracy and speed
• Maintain organized inventory, restocking shelves and managing stock levels to ensure availability
• Receive incoming shipments and verify accuracy against order documentation
• Build relationships with repeat customers and deliver consistent, professional service
• Support store operations including cash handling, opening and closing procedures, and cleanliness standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Proven customer service experience in retail or a related field
• Ability to lift, carry, and organize automotive parts weighing up to 50 pounds regularly
• Strong communication skills and comfort explaining technical information to diverse customers
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn our point-of-sale and inventory systems
• Reliable transportation to commute to our Republic, Missouri location
• Mechanical knowledge or automotive enthusiasm (preferred)
