Mineral Technology and Laboratory Technician

Omya is hiring a Mineral Technology and Laboratory Technician for our Perth facility on a full-time basis. We're looking for a skilled technician to deliver precise mineral analysis and support our laboratory operations across Western Australia.

Role Overview

As our Mineral Technology and Laboratory Technician based in Perth, you'll manage critical laboratory testing and analysis that supports our mineral technology operations. In this full-time role, you'll work with sophisticated analytical equipment, develop technical expertise in mineral characterisation, and contribute to the quality assurance processes that underpin our performance materials business. Your work will be central to ensuring our products meet the highest standards.

Your Responsibilities

• Execute mineral analysis and laboratory tests using appropriate techniques and equipment
• Prepare and process mineral samples following established laboratory protocols
• Accurately record, analyse, and report results to support operational decisions
• Perform calibration and routine maintenance of laboratory instrumentation
• Ensure laboratory safety compliance and maintain clean, organised working conditions
• Conduct quality control checks to verify product consistency and integrity
• Communicate findings clearly with colleagues and contribute to team objectives

• Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of laboratory work
• Practical experience or proven competency operating laboratory equipment and instruments
