Commercial Finance Manager

Prime seeks an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to lead financial strategy and commercial operations in Knutsford, Cheshire East. This full-time role offers the opportunity to drive value across commercial functions and shape financial decision-making for a growing business.

Role Overview

As Commercial Finance Manager, you will oversee commercial financial performance, bridging finance and operations to unlock commercial opportunity. You'll manage budgets, deliver financial insights that inform commercial strategy, and work closely with stakeholders across sales, procurement, and project delivery to maximise profitability and operational efficiency. Your financial acumen and commercial mindset will be essential to supporting business growth and sustainable margins.

Core Duties

• Prepare and manage commercial budgets; forecast revenue, costs, and cash flow across commercial operations
• Analyse commercial performance data and provide actionable financial insights to senior leadership
• Support contract negotiation and commercial risk assessment; identify financial implications and commercial levers
• Monitor project profitability and variance analysis; escalate commercial risks early
• Streamline commercial finance processes; collaborate with finance and operations teams to improve efficiency
• Lead month-end and quarter-end reporting; ensure accuracy and timeliness of commercial financial data
• Support strategic commercial initiatives, including pricing strategy, commercial partnerships, and commercial transformation

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or equivalent experience in commercial finance or financial analysis
• Strong technical financial skills: proficient in Excel, financial modelling, and accounting systems
• Commercial acumen; experience translating financial data into commercial strategy and recommendations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to influence non-finance colleagues
• Attention to detail and strong analytical mindset; comfortable managing complex, multi-faceted financial scenarios
• Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment
