Role Overview
As a Help Desk Technician II at Prime System Solutions, you'll be the frontline technical support professional delivering hands-on assistance to users experiencing IT issues. You'll troubleshoot hardware and software problems, manage support requests, and escalate complex issues appropriately. This role combines customer service excellence with practical technical problem-solving, making it ideal for someone who enjoys helping others while continuously expanding their technology expertise.
Core Duties
- Provide first and second-level technical support to end users via phone, email, and remote assistance tools
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, from connectivity problems to application errors
- Log, categorize, and track support tickets using a ticketing system, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
- Perform basic system maintenance, including software updates, driver installations, and troubleshooting
- Escalate complex technical issues to senior technical staff or specialized departments
- Maintain clear documentation of solutions and create knowledge base entries for recurring issues
- Assist with hardware deployments, installations, and user onboarding as needed
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in IT support, help desk, or desktop support roles
- Solid understanding of Windows and/or macOS operating systems
- Familiarity with common enterprise software, networking basics, and hardware components
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with patience and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users
- Ability to manage multiple support requests and prioritize effectively
- Relevant IT certification (A+, CompTIA, Microsoft, or equivalent) is a plus
