Line technical support & Certification Engineer – Power tools

Join Bosch Group as a Line Technical Support & Certification Engineer – Power Tools, based in Chennai, India. This is a full-time, on-site engineering role where you'll deliver critical technical support to our power tools manufacturing operations, ensuring products meet international standards and regulatory requirements.

The Opportunity

Bosch Group operates advanced power tools manufacturing facilities in Chennai, and this role places you at the heart of production excellence. You'll support our line operations by bridging engineering standards with manufacturing reality, ensuring every tool meets certification requirements and quality benchmarks. Working directly with production teams, you'll tackle technical challenges that impact our ability to deliver reliable, certified products to global markets. This is hands-on engineering work that combines problem-solving, technical expertise, and cross-functional collaboration in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide real-time technical support to power tools production lines, diagnosing and resolving equipment and process issues
• Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with relevant technical standards, safety regulations, and product certification requirements
• Support product testing, validation, and certification workflows to meet both internal and external compliance standards
• Maintain and update technical documentation, work instructions, and process procedures for production teams
• Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to implement improvements and solve recurring technical problems
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to production staff, equipment operators, and maintenance teams
• Monitor equipment performance, identify potential improvements, and escalate issues requiring engineering intervention
• Assist with root cause analysis of quality or technical issues and implement corrective actions

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Demonstrated experience in manufacturing operations, production support, or technical line support roles
• Working knowledge of power tools, industrial equipment, or similar manufacturing processes
• Solid understanding of technical standards, compliance requirements, and product certification frameworks
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work methodically under time constraints
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• Comfortable working on production floors and in hands-on technical environments
• Team player with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
