About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital consulting organization seeking a Senior Lead Consultant – Defense & Resilience in Mainz, Germany. Our client works at the intersection of public sector security, defense contractors, and critical infrastructure, delivering digital transformation solutions with societal impact.

In this role, you will advise private defense companies and security-focused public sector clients on secure digitalization and transformation initiatives. You'll translate military capabilities, operational requirements, and strategic goals into concrete digital solutions and technological architectures, working across interdisciplinary teams from strategic conception through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Consult private and public sector clients in defense and security environments on the development and implementation of highly secure digitalization and transformation projects
• Analyze complex functional, organizational, and technological challenges and develop robust solution approaches and target architectures
• Translate military capabilities, operational requirements, and strategic objectives into concrete digital solutions and technology architectures
• Develop strategies, roadmaps, and concepts for digitizing security-relevant processes and structures in collaboration with clients
• Accompany projects from strategic conception through functional design to implementation, ensuring tangible client value
• Facilitate workshops with diverse stakeholders, bringing together technical, technological, and strategic perspectives
• Collaborate closely with development, architecture, and delivery experts, taking responsibility for the quality of outcomes
• Monitor technological and security policy developments and derive relevant insights for clients and service portfolio evolution

What We're Looking For

• Several years of experience consulting on, designing, or managing complex digitalization and IT projects, ideally in defense, security, or public sector environments
• Strong understanding of military capability logic and capacity-oriented planning, with the ability to derive requirements for modern digital solutions
• Sound knowledge of digitizing command and operational processes, including command information systems and their integration into existing system landscapes
• Familiarity with relevant technologies and solution approaches in cybersecurity, resilience, cloud and platform solutions, secure communication, and networks
• Understanding of deployment scenarios for drones, sensors, unmanned systems, and the potential of artificial intelligence and data spaces in military and public sector contexts
• Ability to translate technological developments and complex IT services into concrete military or administrative requirements, application scenarios, and value potential
• Confident presence in client workshops, at management level, and in interdisciplinary teams, with the ability to present complex matters appropriately for different audiences
• High initiative, strategic thinking, and willingness to take responsibility for topics, clients, and portfolio development
• Willingness to travel within Germany and Europe as client engagements require
• Very good German and English language skills, written and spoken
• Plus: Background through service in the armed forces or close professional contact with military organizations
• Plus: Experience with classified information handling, security clearance processes, or comparable work in regulated environments
