Senior Project Manager – Digital Communications (all genders)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital communications consultancy seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex digital implementation projects. In this role, you will take ownership of CMS-based websites and information platforms, guiding projects from conception through delivery and ongoing operations.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Steering sophisticated digital implementation projects while maintaining control over scope, budget, quality, and timelines
• Managing CMS-based communication projects, including websites and information platforms, coordinating with technology, communications consulting, creative, content, and UX teams
• Collaborating closely with clients and interdisciplinary project teams to understand requirements and translate them into concrete project goals and solutions
• Identifying new opportunities and potential with existing clients, developing projects and client relationships alongside subject matter experts
• Contributing your project expertise to proposals, tenders, and pitches
• Managing diverse stakeholders confidently, ensuring clarity, accountability, and effective collaboration even in complex project situations

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate brings:

• Several years of experience managing digital implementation projects, ideally involving websites, information platforms, or other CMS-based solutions
• A proactive approach to project management—not just administration, but actively shaping projects, solutions, and client relationships
• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to understand challenges, recognize potential, and develop appropriate solutions with interdisciplinary teams
• Comfort working with both technical teams and disciplines such as communications, UX, design, creative, and content
• Familiarity with various project methodologies (agile and traditional) and the judgment to apply them appropriately; certification is a plus but not required
• Experience with public sector or public-adjacent industry projects is highly desirable
• A completed university degree or equivalent practical qualification
• Excellent German language skills, both written and spoken, for stakeholder communication
• Experience in presales, business development, or proposal creation is advantageous but not essential

Location: Cologne, with flexible remote work options available throughout Germany. Full-time or part-time arrangements can be discussed.
