Senior UI/UX Designer (all genders)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital solutions organization based in Hamburg that creates user-centered applications with real societal impact. Our talent team is seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to join their interdisciplinary project teams working on complex applications, portals, and information systems across regulated sectors including public services, healthcare, and energy.

In this role, you'll take ownership of the design process from user research insights through to final visual implementation. You'll work at the intersection of customer requirements, user-centered design, and technical delivery—thinking strategically about design while maintaining exceptional visual precision. Design systems will be central to your work: you'll build them, maintain consistency across products, and ensure successful handoff to development teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete design process in client projects, from design vision and language definition through to final UI delivery
• Create visually and functionally sophisticated user flows and interfaces for complex applications with focus on consistency, accessibility, and implementation readiness
• Provide strategic consultation to clients and project teams on digital product evolution, combining user insights with market observation to present options and justify design decisions
• Manage design systems throughout their lifecycle, ensuring adoption within teams through documentation, contribution guidelines, reviews, and training of colleagues and clients
• Advise clients at peer level, facilitate workshops, and communicate design decisions clearly to non-design stakeholders
• Lead creative direction for proposals and pitches, including presentation delivery
• Deploy AI tools strategically within design processes and share learnings with the team
• Provide technical leadership for small UX/UI teams in client projects, offering guidance through design reviews, quality assurance, and mentoring

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in conception and design of digital products with focus on UX and UI design
• Completed degree in Communication Design, Interaction Design, Media Informatics, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or comparable qualification
• Substantial experience developing, applying, and evolving design systems with strong quality standards and visual sensibility
• Confident application of UX methods, design of complex digital applications, and understanding of digital accessibility requirements
• Experience collaborating with development teams in agile environments, facilitating workshops, and presenting design solutions to clients and stakeholders
• Compelling portfolio demonstrating your work from problem definition to final interface, including design system experience
• Excellent German and English language skills, written and verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in regulated industries such as public sector, healthcare, or energy
• Experience leading small design teams in client projects
• Art direction experience
• Practical experience with AI-supported products, design processes, prototyping, or code generation
