Applied AI Engineer (Germany-based)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI software client in Germany that is building next-generation engineering tools for the manufacturing sector. Our talent team is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join a small, high-performing technical team focused on agentic workflows and LLM integrations.

This is a Germany-based role with flexible work arrangements—fully remote, hybrid, or onsite, depending on your preference. You must have the right to work in Germany.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the AI engineering team on agentic workflows, LLM integrations, and next-generation AI capabilities
• Design and implement AI-powered features using existing large language models
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify use cases where AI can improve customer experience
• Build multi-step agent workflows that reason over complex technical documents and specifications
• Integrate AI systems with internal data sources to expand agent knowledge
• Work with the engineering team to deploy AI features into production environments
• Own implementations end to end, learning tools as needed to deliver results

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 3+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 1 year working with LLMs
• Strong interest in agentic technologies and techniques
• Experience integrating AI capabilities in previous roles, preferably with a variety of AI APIs, tools, and frameworks
• Comfortable owning implementations end to end and learning new tools as you go
• Knowledge of security, data privacy, and data hygiene, especially surrounding agent integration
• Thrive in a startup environment with creative freedom
• Based in Germany with the right to work in the country

Nice to Have:

• Experience with vector databases such as Qdrant, Weaviate, pgvector, or similar
• Experience with LLM orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or LlamaIndex
• Experience in Azure AI Foundry and other Azure products
• Experience with React or similar modern web technologies (Vue, Svelte)

Pay

Pay via Get A Job.ai: €70,000 - €100,000 based on experience, plus equity (0.5% - 1%). The client also offers top-tier hardware and tools of your choice, with flexible remote, hybrid, or onsite work arrangements.
