Responsibilities
Our client, a confidential open-source browser organization, is seeking a Contract Software Engineer to improve the health and correctness of their DOM Core session history implementation. You will work directly with their engineering team to expand test coverage and resolve defects in a large-scale browser engine codebase.
- Write Web Platform Tests and internal test suites to improve coverage of session history behaviors
- Identify, debug, and fix correctness issues to ensure standards compliance
- Collaborate with module owners through code review processes and iterate to successful landing
- Work in public repositories with transparent bug tracking and open code review
What we're looking for
Required:
- Substantial experience working in browser engine codebases or browser automation frameworks
- Strong JavaScript skills with proven ability to write robust automated tests
- Proficiency in C++ development within large, mature codebases
- Excellent debugging skills in complex software systems
- Comfort working in open-source environments with public code review and issue tracking
Preferred:
- Prior contributions to major browser engines
- Familiarity with web standards and Web Platform Test methodologies
