Automotive Business Development Director – Premium & Luxury

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential global customer experience consultancy seeking an Automotive Business Development Director – Premium & Luxury for their Paris office. Our client operates at the intersection of data-driven retail performance and customer experience transformation, serving premium and luxury brands worldwide.

This is a strategic and highly commercial role for an entrepreneurial automotive expert who can leverage a strong senior network, create and convert new business opportunities, and help expand our client's position with leading premium and luxury automotive brands.

Responsibilities

Reporting to senior leadership, you will lead commercial development of the Automotive Industry practice:

• Lead new client acquisition and market expansion with direct ownership of automotive business development
• Develop and maintain a compelling automotive value proposition that addresses stakeholder priorities across brands, importers, distributors, and showroom management
• Serve as the internal and external automotive industry expert and key point of contact for strategic client discussions and new business opportunities
• Execute a clear commercial strategy to acquire new automotive clients, leveraging your established senior network to generate qualified opportunities and build a strong pipeline
• Establish annual business plans including revenue targets, priority accounts, pipeline goals, and market development initiatives
• Monitor commercial performance including pipeline development, conversion rates, and revenue growth
• Work closely with client success managers on automotive accounts, joining meetings at key milestones and strengthening client dialogue
• Act as subject matter expert, coaching client-facing teams to identify growth opportunities and build stronger relationships with senior stakeholders
• Own the business development effort from market mapping through proposal development, negotiation, and conversion
• Develop visibility and credibility across automotive markets through networking, industry events, and thought leadership

What We're Looking For

Essential qualifications and experience:

• Master's degree in Luxury Management, Business Administration, or related field from a Business School or similar institution
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the automotive sector with significant exposure to consulting, marketing, sales, or business development in the premium or luxury segment
• Fluent English is mandatory; German is a plus, French is nice-to-have
• Extensive and active network of senior decision-makers across the premium and luxury automotive sector—this is a core requirement
• Strong demonstrable business development track record including originating opportunities, managing complex sales cycles, and winning new clients
• Proven experience developing strategic and business plans
• Deep knowledge of the premium and luxury automotive market, commercial ecosystem, and industry trends
• Understanding of corporate finance and performance measures
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a positive, outgoing personality
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills—polished, persuasive, and diplomatic
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Consulting approach with ability to coach teams, translate expertise into commercial opportunities, and influence senior stakeholders
