Azure Infrastructure Engineer (m/w/d) in Köln

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential financial services organization seeking an Azure Infrastructure Engineer to join their IT team in Cologne. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for building, operating, and continuously developing the Microsoft cloud infrastructure. You will provide a stable, secure, and highly available Azure platform while collaborating with the IT team to evolve the company's future cloud architecture.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Planning, operating, and optimizing the entire Azure platform
• Managing and developing M365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint
• Implementing security policies, Identity Protection, Conditional Access, and Microsoft Defender
• Administering identities, roles, groups, and authentication methods
• Developing PowerShell scripts and automating administrative processes
• Monitoring the Azure environment, analyzing performance metrics, and capacity planning
• Contributing to cloud projects and supporting IT leadership on architecture, infrastructure, and security topics

You will serve as the technical point of contact for Microsoft 365 and modern security solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem, actively supporting the automation and standardization of the IT landscape. This position offers the opportunity to shape the transformation from a predominantly on-premises infrastructure to a modern, secure, and scalable Azure cloud environment.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Completed apprenticeship as IT specialist (system integration) or comparable degree
• Several years of professional experience in Microsoft cloud environments
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (Microsoft certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, and SC-300 preferred)
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID
• Strong knowledge of PowerShell and Terraform
• Very good German language skills at B2 level or higher for seamless internal and external communication

This is a full-time position based in Cologne with a hybrid working model available after your onboarding period.
