Chemical Laboratory Assistant / Lab Technician (f/m/d) Analytics & Synthesis

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential deep-tech organization in Leipzig that is developing next-generation sustainable materials. Our talent team is seeking a dedicated Chemical Laboratory Assistant or Lab Technician to serve as the analytical backbone of their research laboratory. This is a hands-on technical role where precision, reliability, and practical bench skills are paramount.

In this position, you will primarily focus on instrumental and wet-chemical analytics to characterize advanced materials, while supporting synthesis operations according to established protocols. You'll work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your technical expertise directly contributes to breakthrough innovation in materials science.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine instrumental and wet-chemical analyses including NMR, IR spectroscopy, DSC, and titrations to precisely characterize materials
• Support bench-scale and pilot-scale polycondensation syntheses by reliably executing reactions according to standard operating procedures
• Maintain smooth laboratory operations including glassware preparation, sample preparation, material drying, and general lab organization
• Conduct regular calibration of analytical instruments and maintain detailed laboratory documentation and journals
• Assist in drafting clear standard operating procedures for analytical and synthesis workflows
• Ensure a safe, high-standard working environment adhering to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles
• Keep analytical equipment properly maintained and ready for use

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed vocational training as a Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA), Chemielaborant, or similar technical qualification with strong hands-on bench experience
• Demonstrated practical expertise in instrumental and wet-chemical analytics, particularly NMR, IR spectroscopy, DSC, and titration techniques
• Experience safely executing organic syntheses according to established protocols and SOPs
• Confidence operating analytical instruments, preparing samples, and performing routine instrument calibrations
• Detail-oriented and reliable approach to laboratory work with a collaborative mindset
• Working knowledge of English sufficient for technical documentation and team communication
• Experience in polymer testing (MFR/MFI, tensile testing) or previous work in a plastics laboratory is highly valued but not required
• Knowledge of polymers or reactor systems is advantageous; training will be provided as needed
