Biology Expert – AI Trainer (Germany)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI research organization seeking Biology experts in Germany for a specialized training data development project. This is a remote, part-time contract role requiring approximately 20 hours per week for an initial 2-month period, with potential for extension.

Our client develops high-quality scientific training data used by leading AI labs to advance model reasoning capabilities in STEM domains. You'll create challenging, deterministic biology problems that push the boundaries of frontier AI systems.

Responsibilities

• Design advanced biology problems with exactly one verifiable correct answer that challenge current AI capabilities
• Create deterministic tasks reflecting authentic scientific and analytical workflows
• Submit complete, verified solutions with full documentation
• Build problems involving experimental reasoning, biological systems, computational analysis, or bioinformatics workflows
• Apply Python and specialized biology or bioinformatics tools as relevant to problem design
• Ensure high standards of rigor, reproducibility, and technical clarity across all submissions
• Focus on areas such as molecular biology, genetics, systems biology, computational biology, bioinformatics, or adjacent quantitative biology fields based on your expertise

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Master's or PhD in Biology or a related life sciences field
• Research or industry experience involving computational or quantitative biological analysis
• Strong Python programming skills; experience with data analysis or bioinformatics workflows preferred
• Strong reasoning ability and comfort with multi-step scientific problem solving
• Ability to create original, difficult problems grounded in real biological practice
• Clear written English and strong attention to detail

Nice to Have:

• Experience with bioinformatics toolkits, genomics workflows, structural biology tools, or computational biology methods
• Experience designing technical assessments or scientific challenge problems
• Cross-disciplinary experience spanning biology and computation
