(Senior) Operations Controller (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential Berlin-based organization seeking an Operations Controller to work at the intersection of finance, operations, and business units. In this role, you will provide transparency across projects, analyze operational metrics, advance reporting capabilities, and enable data-driven decision-making throughout the organization. You will also drive the evolution of processes and system landscapes to support sustainable growth.

Your key responsibilities include:

• Creating forecasts, budgets, and scenario analyses in collaboration with departmental stakeholders
• Analyzing project, order, and company-wide KPIs and deriving actionable recommendations
• Advancing cost calculations, contribution margin analyses, and operational reporting frameworks
• Building and developing modern operations controlling functions
• Optimizing controlling processes and supporting the expansion of business intelligence infrastructure
• Analyzing plan variances and contributing to the development and implementation of improvement measures
• Collaborating closely with operational teams to increase efficiency, profitability, and transparency
• Ensuring high data quality and advancing CRM, ERP, BI, and reporting processes using tools including HubSpot, Teamwork, Langdock, and Excel
• Supporting monthly and annual closings according to German commercial code (HGB)

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed degree with focus on controlling, finance, accounting, or comparable commercial qualification
• Several years of professional experience in controlling or finance environments
• Strong analytical capabilities and high affinity for numbers
• Very good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel
• Experience with ERP, CRM, and BI systems
• Structured, independent, solution-oriented working style with strong communication skills and ability to convey complex matters clearly
• German at C1/C2 level and English at minimum B2 level
• Ideally, experience in project-based organizations or project and order processing environments
