About This Opportunity
We are representing a rapidly scaling European workplace-management SaaS company that has surpassed €10M ARR and recently closed a significant funding round with leading institutional investors. Our client is building an efficiency-driven, AI-first organization and needs a Chief Financial Officer to serve as a strategic co-pilot to the executive team.
This is not a traditional back-office finance role. You will own the equity story, lead future financing rounds, sit in board meetings from day one, and build a lean, AI-augmented finance function that becomes a benchmark for modern SaaS operations. The equity package reflects the founder-like impact this role will have on enterprise value creation.
Responsibilities
- Lead the equity narrative and maintain continuous funding readiness for future financing rounds, strategic options, and long-term value creation initiatives
- Own the path to profitability through driver-based planning, disciplined capital allocation, and strategic resource deployment
- Build and operate an AI-first finance and operations function that automates before hiring and proves a lean team can outperform traditional organizations
- Provide commercial intelligence that drives GTM and product investment decisions, including pricing, packaging, NRR economics, and unit-economics optimization
- Manage international structure and tax efficiency across the multi-entity European group, including transfer pricing and compliance
- Maintain investor-grade financials with proper SaaS revenue recognition, clean cap table management, and audit readiness
- Run board and investor relations, building credibility with existing and future investors alongside the founders
- Oversee cash management, FX, risk, scenario planning, and operational backbone including legal, procurement, and insurance
What We're Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Transaction-focused background in PE, M&A, investment banking, or transaction advisory, followed by operating experience in a scaling company (exceptional strategy consulting candidates with strong deal exposure will be considered)
- Deep fluency in B2B SaaS metrics: ARR/NRR, cohort economics, CAC payback, Rule of 40, ARR-to-cash bridge
- Experience operating at or beyond €10M ARR with 100+ employees, ideally with visibility into the €25M+ ARR stage
- Fundraising or liquidity event exposure, particularly in efficiency-driven growth scenarios
- Builder mindset focused on enterprise value per team member rather than headcount or budget size
- Hands-on approach and genuine excitement about AI-native workflows and tools
- Based in or willing to work from Zurich, Berlin, Munich, or London (remote within Europe possible for exceptional candidates)
- Full working proficiency in English; German strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience partnering with People & Culture functions
- Multi-entity European operations knowledge: Swiss/EU accounting, VAT, transfer pricing, cross-border payroll
- Venture debt, structured financing, or buy-side M&A experience
