About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fintech client in London who is scaling their mortgage products and seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their product engineering team.
This is a hands-on role where you'll own features end-to-end—from shaping product ideas and UX details through to implementation, launch, and iteration. You'll work in a fast-paced, empowered environment building interfaces that simplify complex financial journeys and make them feel fast, intuitive, and trustworthy.
This position is hybrid, requiring 3 days per week in the London office.
Responsibilities
- Build and ship high-quality product features using React, TypeScript, GraphQL, and Tailwind
- Lead frontend projects from concept through delivery, including technical design, implementation, testing, and iteration
- Collaborate closely with product, backend engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver exceptional user experiences
- Apply strong UI/UX judgment to enhance customer-facing interfaces
- Champion frontend architecture, component systems, performance, accessibility, and developer experience
- Raise the standard of frontend engineering across the team through code reviews and mentorship
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Strong professional experience building production web applications with React
- Advanced hands-on experience coding with TypeScript
- Experience working with GraphQL APIs
- Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and performance optimization
- Experience with modern testing frameworks, including integration and end-to-end testing
- Good eye for design, interaction details, responsiveness, accessibility, and overall product polish
- Product-minded approach: you care about customer outcomes and the "why" behind what you're building
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and turn complex problems into clear, shippable solutions
- Pride in your craft, clean code, and thoughtful code reviews
Preferred:
- Experience in fintech, lending, mortgages, or other regulated industries
- Experience working with Python or contributing to backend services
- Experience in early-stage or fast-moving product teams
- Familiarity with user analytics, feature flagging, and observability tools
- Data-driven approach to decision-making
