Founding Head of Engineering – Get A Job.ai Zone

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential wellbeing technology company on an exceptionally rare founding engineering role. This is a greenfield opportunity to build the technical foundation of a new platform that consolidates health data, diagnostics, and personalised guidance into a single customer experience. You will be the senior-most engineer on this product line, setting architecture, building across the full stack, and growing the team around you. This is a genuine founding seat with corresponding equity and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the core technology stack end-to-end, including lab-testing integrations, wearable data pipelines, protocol engines, and companion app experiences
• Set the technical direction across sensor ingestion, data fusion, clinical knowledge graphs, product scoring systems, and recommendation engines
• Work hands-on across the stack—scalable Python backend services and modern frontend (Next.js or equivalent)—shipping production code from day one
• Lead architectural decisions across multiple product pods, ensuring cohesive, high-quality end-to-end delivery
• Build and scale the engineering team, hiring strong engineers and raising the bar as the organisation grows
• Partner closely with product, clinical, data, and business stakeholders to translate ambitious vision into scalable, production-ready systems
• Make foundational infrastructure and architecture decisions that will define the platform for years to come

What We're Looking For

Founder Mentality

• You want to go all-in on something meaningful—your best work, not just another role

• Proven 0-to-1 experience building meaningful products or platforms from scratch

Technical Excellence

• 7+ years designing and building complex, data-driven products at production scale
• Excellent Python backend engineering skills
• Experience with Next.js or an equivalent modern frontend framework
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, data pipelines, and scalable architecture
• Technical leadership experience, including setting direction and guiding engineers across multiple teams or workstreams
• Experience working with health, wearable, sensor, clinical, or recommendation data is highly valuable

Nice to Have

• Experience building products in digital health, diagnostics, wellness, fitness technology, or other data-rich consumer environments
• Familiarity with wearable, sensor, lab, biomarker, or longitudinal health data
• Experience designing sensor ingestion pipelines, data-fusion layers, knowledge graphs, scoring engines, or rules-based protocol systems
• Exposure to clinical data models, health ontologies, or decision-support products
• Familiarity with machine learning systems integration (core ML owned by another team)
• Experience working with privacy-sensitive or regulated data, including consent, security, governance, and data-quality considerations
