Senior Technical Architect – Hybrid (Product / Platform) (m/f/d)

Overview

Our talent team is representing a confidential enterprise software organization seeking a Senior Technical Architect – Hybrid (Product / Platform) in Hamburg. This is a critical role bridging cloud-native product innovation and enterprise platform integration at a senior/principal level.

You will own technical design across two interconnected worlds: modern cloud-native products built on Node.js architectures with AI capabilities, and their integration into private cloud enterprise platforms. Your focus splits approximately 70% public cloud product architecture and 30% private cloud platform architecture, ensuring these environments evolve as one coherent, scalable landscape rather than disconnected estates.

Responsibilities

Cloud-Native Product Architecture (Primary Focus)

• Design microservices architectures on Node.js with API-first and event-driven patterns
• Define service boundaries, data flows, and integration patterns
• Ensure multi-tenant capability, tenant isolation, and non-functional requirements (performance, scalability, resilience, cost)

AI Integration

• Architect AI features within the product, integrating LLMs and AI services within defined guardrails
• Design RAG and agentic patterns over product and platform data
• Optimize performance and cost of AI-driven features

Hybrid Integration Architecture

• Design integration layers between cloud-native products and private cloud ERP systems
• Define API and event contracts across hybrid boundaries (OData, REST, business events, event mesh)
• Establish data ownership, consistency, and synchronization patterns
• Design identity, authorization, and trust propagation across the hybrid landscape

Platform Architecture (Secondary Focus)

• Provide architectural guidance for private cloud extensions and side-by-side scenarios
• Enforce clean core principles and development standards
• Conduct architectural reviews with platform architects
• Maintain awareness of core SCM process flows as they surface into product capabilities

DevOps & Design Governance

• Collaborate with infrastructure and deployment engineers across both estates
• Design containerization and cloud deployment architecture
• Define CI/CD and environment strategies spanning public and private cloud pipelines
• Create high-level design, solution design, and technical design documentation
• Provide technical review and sign-off in Architecture Board
• Translate enterprise guardrails into actionable design standards for teams

What We're Looking For

Required Experience & Skills

• Several years of experience as an architect in cloud-native environments
• Strong expertise in Node.js
• Proven experience with microservices and API architectures
• Strong understanding of event-driven systems
• Experience integrating AI into software products
• Cloud architecture experience with containers, orchestration, and scaling
• Working knowledge of private cloud ERP systems and clean core extension patterns
• Proven track record designing integration between cloud-native applications and ERP cores
• High technical credibility with senior engineers in both cloud-native and enterprise platform teams

Technology Stack Familiarity

• Public Cloud & Product: Node.js, TypeScript, microservices, API-first design, containers (Kubernetes/Kyma), Cloud Foundry, event-driven architecture, event mesh, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, observability
• Platform & Extensions: Enterprise platform services, cloud application programming models (Node.js/CDS), private and public cloud side-by-side extensions, clean core, OData APIs
• Data & AI: Cloud database technologies (HDI, Vector Engine), generative AI integration, RAG, LLM integration, LangChain/LangGraph, agentic orchestration
• Infrastructure & Security: Multi-tenant architecture, identity federation, CI/CD toolchains

AI Readiness

• Habitual, critical use of AI assistants in daily engineering and design work
• Ability to judge where AI output is trustworthy and where verification is required
• Awareness of data protection, IP, and confidentiality boundaries when using AI tools
• AI-assisted architecture work: option analysis, trade-off exploration, design review support
• AI-assisted generation and maintenance of design documentation
• Use of AI coding assistants for prototypes, spikes, and reference implementations
• Experience designing AI-native product capabilities with guardrails and evaluation frameworks

Preferred Additional Experience

• Experience with business technology platforms and cloud application programming
• Experience with hyperscaler-hosted enterprise environments
• Exposure to SCM processes and enterprise modules (SD, MM, EWM)
• Experience with enterprise development languages at review level
