About This Opportunity
Our talent team is representing a confidential financial technology organization in Berlin that specializes in multi-asset indexing and calculation platforms. We're seeking a Working Student for their quantitative development team—a hands-on role where you'll contribute to real production systems that power financial indices used globally.
This is an excellent opportunity for students passionate about both software engineering and financial markets to gain practical experience building modern indexing infrastructure alongside experienced engineers.

Employment Type: Part-time (Working Student position)
Responsibilities
- Participate in software development projects to enhance the indexing platform
- Support development of algorithms for real-time calculation of financial indices
- Contribute to quality assurance through testing and code review
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure and business teams on technical solutions
- Work on architectural improvements and production system enhancements
What We're Looking For
- Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, or related field
- Strong experience with Java programming
- Genuine interest in financial markets and instruments (ETFs, bonds, derivatives)
- Analytical mindset with enthusiasm for solving complex technical problems
- Innovative, hands-on approach to software development
- Proactive team player with good English communication skills
- Motivation to work with modern tech stacks including Java microservices and build systems
