About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential quantitative trading firm in their search for a Front End Software Engineer based in London. Our client is building sophisticated browser-based operational tools for expert users, and they need someone who combines deep technical expertise with a passion for elegant user interfaces.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement next-generation browser-based operational tools
- Build sophisticated user interfaces that balance high usability standards with power-user functionality
- Create reusable libraries and abstractions that capture common interaction patterns
- Contribute to development practices and firm-wide UI standards
- Collaborate closely with traders and end-users to understand requirements
- Work across the full stack including front-ends, back-ends, middleware, and databases as needed
What We're Looking For
- Strong background in web technologies including CSS, DOM manipulation, and browser fundamentals
- Deep understanding of modern UI frameworks such as React, Vue, Angular, or Flutter
- Proven experience building sophisticated, polished user interfaces in the browser
- Passion for the detailed work required to create elegant and highly usable UIs
- Interest in typed functional programming approaches to UI construction
- Experience with languages like Elm, ReasonML, Purescript, TypeScript, or OCaml is a plus
- Fluency in English is required
