Responsibilities
We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Lead Technical Recruiter to drive their specialized talent acquisition for quantitative engineering roles. In this position, you will own the end-to-end recruitment process for highly specialized quantitative engineers and researchers, partnering closely with engineering leadership to build world-class teams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the complete recruiting lifecycle from sourcing through complex offer negotiations for quantitative engineering and algorithmic trading positions
- Developing sophisticated recruiting strategies that align with aggressive hiring goals and technical priorities
- Implementing creative sourcing approaches to identify elite talent through niche channels including competitive programming forums, technical repositories, research publications, and quantitative finance conferences
- Delivering exceptional candidate experience for highly sought-after technical talent throughout rigorous assessment processes
- Partnering with hiring managers to understand specialized technical requirements, modeling needs, and performance engineering priorities
- Leading intake meetings, interview team coordination, and technical debrief sessions to maintain data-driven hiring standards
- Providing weekly analytics and progress reporting to stakeholders and senior leadership
What We're Looking For
Our client requires a recruiter with deep expertise in the quantitative engineering landscape:
- 7+ years of recruiting experience, with at least 3+ years focused specifically on Quantitative Engineering, High-Frequency Trading, or Machine Learning talent
- A combination of specialized search agency and in-house startup experience preferred
- Proven track record of successfully converting passive, highly-compensated technical talent into hires
- Experience sourcing through specialized channels including mathematics competitions, research institutions, and STEM academic programs
- Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments with exceptional organizational skills
- Strong technical fluency to discuss quantitative tech stacks including C++, Python (NumPy/Pandas), Rust, low-latency systems, and distributed computing
- Knowledge of competitive landscapes in fintech and quantitative finance, ideally from major financial hubs
- Expertise with recruiting tools including ATS platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, specialized sourcing tools, and technical repositories
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with PhDs and elite engineers
