SAP Integration Architect

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking an SAP Integration Architect to lead how enterprise customers connect their SAP environments to a modern AI platform. You will own the end-to-end architecture for master data, invoices, postings, and write-back across diverse SAP landscapes including R/3, ECC, S/4HANA, Business One, and Business ByDesign—both on-premise and cloud.

In this hands-on role, you will:

• Design and implement integration architecture for customer SAP systems, selecting the appropriate path per deployment—OData, IDoc, BAPI/RFC, BTP/CPI, or file-based approaches
• Build a connector platform with reusable templates, validation logic, monitoring, and tooling that accelerates every subsequent deployment
• Translate FI and MM process knowledge into technical specifications and field mappings for the engineering team
• Ship production code in Node.js and TypeScript alongside the core engineering team—same repository, same code reviews
• Serve as the SAP subject matter expert in customer engagements, integration partner discussions, and prospect conversations
• Establish repeatable go-live standards and continuously move integration logic into the product layer

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP integration experience across real customer environments spanning R/3, ECC, and S/4HANA
• Deep understanding of accounts payable workflows in SAP: FI, MM, document flow for incoming invoices, tax determination, and data structure nuances
• Expertise across SAP's integration surface—OData, IDocs, BAPI/RFC, BTP/CPI—with a clear perspective on clean core architecture
• Strong coding ability in TypeScript/Node.js or similar languages; you architect solutions and implement them, not just write specifications
• Product thinking: preference for building reusable patterns over repeating custom mappings
• Confidence presenting to enterprise IT teams and the directness to challenge unworkable approaches
• Fluent German and English
• Bonus: ABAP experience, SAP consulting background, or prior work automating integration tasks

Pay

This is a full-time position based in Munich with a five-day in-office work arrangement. The role includes equity participation. Our client offers 25 vacation days plus two company-wide recharge days annually.
