Senior Consultant Search, Content & AI Visibility (SEO/GEO) (m/w/d), Düsseldorf

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential digital consulting firm seeking a Senior Consultant for Search, Content & AI Visibility based in Düsseldorf. In this role, you will drive visibility strategies across traditional search and generative AI systems for B2B clients in manufacturing and industrial sectors.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Developing integrated search and content strategies that unify classical SEO with generative engine optimization, prioritizing measurable impact over completeness
• Leading technical SEO initiatives including crawling, indexing, Core Web Vitals, JavaScript rendering, logfile analysis, and internal linking architecture
• Designing content and entity architectures aligned with B2B buying journeys, from awareness-stage content to deep technical material suitable for LLM citation
• Steering content production by briefing content teams and client subject matter experts, reviewing outputs against search intent and citability standards, and managing editorial planning
• Building AI visibility through consistent entity representation (structured data, sameAs, Wikidata, industry directories) and citeable content formats
• Establishing measurement frameworks for AI visibility including prompt-set-based share of voice across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot, and Google AI Mode
• Conducting SEO and GEO audits with competitive analysis that produce prioritized, actionable recommendations
• Managing multiple client retainer accounts within agreed budgets, leading monthly reporting calls and quarterly reviews
• Presenting strategy and results to management-level stakeholders with clarity and directness
• Supporting new business development through pitch participation and realistic effort estimation
• Coaching colleagues and clients while documenting setups for sustainable knowledge transfer

What We're Looking For

Our client requires a candidate with:

• Minimum 5 years of substantial SEO experience with genuine project ownership and lasting results
• Deep technical SEO expertise including auditing sites with five-figure URL counts, proficiency with Search Console (including API), Screaming Frog, logfile analysis, and platforms like Sistrix, Semrush, or Ahrefs
• Content strategy experience at the steering level for complex B2B topics, including topic architecture, editorial planning, and quality assurance; ability to write effective briefs and review content against search intent and citability criteria
• Experience with or serious exploration of generative engine optimization and AI visibility strategies
• Data competency including fluent use of GA4 and Search Console, ability to work with BigQuery exports, and clear articulation of measurement requirements
• Understanding of B2B contexts, particularly long sales cycles with multiple stakeholders; experience in manufacturing, industrial goods, or wholesale sectors is advantageous
• Analytical thinking with confidence to deliver clear recommendations, including uncomfortable truths when necessary
• Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to executive audiences without oversimplification
• Hands-on pragmatism and patience working within legacy systems and organizational constraints
• Advanced Excel proficiency
• Strong communication skills in German and solid English proficiency

Pay

The client has indicated a salary range of €60,000 to €75,000 gross per year (all-in). Final placement within this range depends on your specific skills, scope of responsibility, and relevant experience. The range represents total compensation including any variable components or additional benefits where applicable.
