Director Marketing (all genders) – GPORTAL (Ociris GmbH)

Responsibilities

Our client, a confidential gaming infrastructure provider based in Germany, is seeking a Director of Marketing to lead their entire marketing function. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll join the core management team with full ownership of performance marketing, social media, partner management, community management, and creative output.

In your first six months, you'll maintain operational excellence while gaining deep insight into the business model and strategic direction. You'll assume complete budget responsibility, managing current spend, overseeing marketing invoices, and building annual forecasts. Market analysis will inform your strategic recommendations on growth opportunities.

As you settle into the role, you'll optimize departmental operations for scalability and work closely with technical teams on product initiatives including checkout optimization and feature launches. You'll manage all external agency and freelancer relationships from onboarding through offboarding, and collaborate with group-level marketing teams to identify synergies.

Brand visibility and community engagement are critical. You'll ensure the brand maintains its strong connection with players across social channels and communication platforms. You'll own major marketing campaigns including studio partnerships and seasonal promotions, while advising the CEO on direct-to-consumer pricing through comprehensive market assessments.

Long-term responsibilities include driving key performance indicators, developing retention strategies, building scalable team structures, and presenting marketing reporting to group leadership and shareholders. You'll design and analyze customer surveys, translating insights into actionable decisions.

What We're Looking For

• Proven track record leading comprehensive marketing departments spanning performance marketing, social media, community management, and creative functions
• Strong marketing analytics capabilities including budget management, marketing controlling, and KPI ownership
• Hands-on performance marketing experience combined with the ability to inspire and motivate teams toward shared objectives
• Background in IT or hosting sectors, plus experience managing external agencies and freelancers
• Exposure to the gaming industry or demonstrated understanding of gaming culture
• Experience with influencer management or social media marketing, with comfort stepping into thought-leadership roles
• Excellent communication skills and ability to navigate conflict constructively
• Strategic, analytical mindset that connects campaign execution to business outcomes
• Proactive, hands-on work style with ability to perform under pressure while maintaining high standards
• Global, adaptable mindset with genuine product passion and business flexibility
• Fluency in both German and English required
