(Senior) Product Manager Energy (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential renewable energy technology company seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the software roadmap for their energy market participation platform. This role sits at the intersection of energy markets, product strategy, and engineering execution—building the systems that connect households to wholesale electricity markets through intelligent automation.

You will work directly with engineering teams to define what gets built, set domain direction across the energy product portfolio, and guide the expansion of dynamic energy products across European markets. This is a high-impact role for someone who understands both energy market mechanics and software product development in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the software roadmap for energy market participation products, determining what engineering builds and in which sequence
• Work day-to-day with development teams to ship features that enable households to participate in energy markets through dynamic tariffs and flexibility products
• Set strategic direction for the energy product domain and collaborate closely with other Product Managers to ensure aligned roadmaps and consistent quality standards
• Partner with operations teams to ensure products are both valuable to customers and operationally viable
• Write detailed specifications, lead product discovery, prioritize features, and shepherd releases to production
• Design next-generation energy products including direct marketing, flexibility offerings, and the platform capabilities required to support them
• Translate energy market structures, regulatory requirements, and trading realities into actionable product requirements across Germany and expanding European markets
• Define and monitor product health metrics including procurement quality, market participation rates, customer activation, and SLA performance
• Determine how pricing, product features, and activation flows are presented to end customers

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of Product Management experience with demonstrated exposure to energy, utilities, or similarly regulated platform environments
• Proven track record of owning a product domain spanning multiple engineering teams and setting strategic direction
• Experience providing guidance and direction to other Product Managers within a domain (line management experience is a plus but not required)
• Strong understanding of energy markets, tariff structures, energy retail operations, or energy trading
• History of owning software roadmaps with engineering teams in regulated industries
• Comfort working with unit economics, product metrics, and quantitative analysis
• Excellent English communication skills; German is a plus
• Currently based in Germany or willing to relocate

Bonus qualifications: Experience with flexibility products, balancing markets, virtual power plants, scheduling systems, TSO/DSO coordination, energy regulation across European markets, optimization and dispatch systems, or line management of Product Managers.
