(Senior) Fund Accounting & Reporting Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech client in Berlin that is modernizing fund operations for private capital markets. They are seeking a Senior Fund Accounting & Reporting Manager to own the delivery of investor reporting and financial statements for venture capital and private equity funds.

This role combines technical accounting expertise with process improvement—you'll ensure compliance with Invest Europe standards while collaborating with technology teams to automate workflows and build scalable fund services infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate investor reports including performance metrics (IRR, TVPI, DPI, RVP), NAV calculations, and carried interest computations in compliance with Invest Europe guidelines
• Own the annual financial statements process including notes preparation, auditor coordination, timeline monitoring, and risk-oriented quality reviews
• Conduct reconciliations, valuation checks, and accounting data reviews while continuously improving quality assurance processes
• Partner with product and engineering teams to standardize and automate accounting and reporting workflows
• Support portfolio valuations, waterfall calculations, and reviews of capital calls, distributions, and management fee calculations
• Maintain proactive communication with general partners, limited partners, and internal operations and technology teams
• Collaborate closely with tax specialists to ensure consistency across accounting ledgers, tax records, and investor reporting

What We're Looking For

• Degree in accounting, finance, controlling, or equivalent qualification
• 5+ years of relevant experience in fund accounting or fund administration for alternative investments
• Solid knowledge of Local GAAP and IFRS; experience with additional standards (Luxembourg, US) and audit processes is advantageous
• Practical experience applying Invest Europe Guidelines and managing reporting processes end-to-end
• Strong technical aptitude with fund reporting software and advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills; interest in project management tools is a plus
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven with a continuous learning mindset
• Proficiency in English required; German language skills are a strong advantage
• Experience in integrated operations environments involving accounting, reporting, and tax is a plus
