(Senior) Backend Engineer (f/m/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential fintech organization in Berlin that is building critical infrastructure for private markets operations. They are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their Product Development team and take ownership of building scalable, secure backend services that power their platform.

This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in their Berlin office, with the flexibility to work remotely for up to four weeks per year.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure backend services using TypeScript and Node.js
• Collaborate with Product Managers in problem discovery and solution creation, leveraging your technical expertise to influence the product roadmap
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth delivery of new features and improvements
• Maximize team output by enhancing functionality and proactively addressing technical debt
• Contribute to improving team collaboration and communication practices
• Build solutions that solve real customer problems in a highly regulated industry

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience building backend systems in fast-paced environments
• Proficiency in backend development with TypeScript or any strongly typed language
• Strong experience with SQL databases and web frameworks such as Nest.js or Spring Boot
• Deep understanding of system design principles, scalability, and performance tuning
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team-player mindset
• Strong work ethic combined with an entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving skills
• Experience with fintech, highly regulated industries, or document processing is a plus

Technical environment: TypeScript, Node.js, Nest.js, MySQL, Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub

Note: This position is open to both mid-level and senior candidates. Responsibilities and compensation will be tailored based on experience level.

Pay
