About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential healthcare technology organization seeking a Principal AI Engineer to design, develop, and deploy advanced AI solutions. This fully remote role offers the chance to work on cutting-edge machine learning systems that directly impact healthcare delivery and operational efficiency across the United States.

We are looking for an experienced AI/ML professional who can build and optimize sophisticated models, including Generative AI, natural language processing, and predictive analytics platforms. You'll integrate these solutions into production environments while maintaining strict compliance with healthcare industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and train machine learning and deep learning models for healthcare applications, including GenAI, NLP, and predictive analytics solutions
• Develop, test, and deploy AI solutions in cloud and on-premise environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and measurable impact
• Work with large healthcare datasets, performing data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model training while ensuring regulatory compliance
• Implement and optimize AI models within existing technology stacks, collaborating with software engineers to ensure seamless integration
• Continuously monitor, refine, and optimize AI models for accuracy, efficiency, and speed using MLOps best practices
• Stay current with AI/ML advancements and explore new technologies to enhance solution effectiveness
• Ensure all AI implementations adhere to healthcare regulations, ethical AI principles, and data privacy standards
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows and optimize business processes using AI-driven solutions

What We're Looking For

• Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or related field
• 5+ years of AI/ML engineering experience with hands-on work in GenAI, NLP, deep learning, and computer vision
• Strong coding skills in Python and frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch
• Proven experience developing, deploying, and fine-tuning LLMs (GPT, Gemini, Claude, or similar) for real-world applications
• Expertise in prompt engineering, model optimization, and inference efficiency
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), MLOps practices, and big data tools (Spark, Hadoop, SQL/NoSQL)
• Strong problem-solving abilities with capacity to translate business challenges into AI-driven solutions
• Healthcare AI experience and understanding of regulatory standards like HIPAA and CMS is a strong plus
• Must be located in the United States; this is a fully remote position
• Video capability required for interviews and onboarding
