Business Intelligence Engineer

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential federal contracting organization supporting government modernization initiatives. We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to join a Human Capital transformation program supporting a major federal agency in Washington, DC. This is a remote-friendly position with occasional in-person meetings required in the DC area.

This role offers the opportunity to design and build enterprise-level dashboards, data models, and reporting layers that bridge stakeholder needs with robust data governance and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain enterprise dashboards, data models, and reporting layers supporting Human Capital modernization
• Conduct data quality assessments and build dashboards to monitor legacy system data cleanup campaigns
• Establish and maintain metadata standards, data lineage documentation, and authoritative data source definitions
• Develop test cases, reconciliation scripts, and coordinate user acceptance testing to ensure data verification
• Support lakehouse architecture design, security frameworks, common data models, and migration strategies
• Translate complex stakeholder requirements into scalable, high-performing BI products
• Align BI deliverables with federal data governance and metadata management standards

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive professional experience in business intelligence, data engineering, data modeling, or analytics roles
• Proven track record developing and maintaining dashboards, data models, and reporting layers that support enterprise stakeholder requirements
• Experience building data quality dashboards to monitor cleanup campaigns and agency-driven data remediation efforts
• Demonstrated ability translating Human Capital stakeholder requirements into reporting and analytical data products
• Experience supporting governed HCM data for reporting and analytics within a lakehouse environment
• Working knowledge of data models, authoritative sources, metadata, lineage, governance attributes, and data quality requirements
• Experience aligning BI products with federal data governance and metadata management requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering
• Ability to attend occasional meetings in Washington, DC
• U.S. work authorization required for federal contract positions
