About This Opportunity
Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential genomic diagnostics organization seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead critical platform initiatives within their oncology software engineering division. This is a senior individual contributor role where you will own end-to-end product strategy and execution across sophisticated, interconnected software products that support life-saving diagnostic workflows.
You will serve as the product backbone for the most complex platform projects, synthesizing input from commercial teams, laboratory operations, clinical staff, and engineering to deliver reliable solutions that patient care depends on. This role demands expertise across three dimensions: defining product strategy based on market needs, deep fluency in how end users actually work, and close collaboration with engineering and R&D on design and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute multi-year software product roadmaps for critical business units, balancing rapid prototyping with long-term commercial stability
- Translate broad business goals into detailed functional workflows, maintaining accountability for end-to-end solution cohesion from order ingestion through lab execution to patient reporting
- Lead the full product lifecycle for complex software solutions in a regulated environment, ensuring seamless user journeys across system boundaries
- Serve as primary domain expert, translating complex scientific, clinical, and technical requirements into robust, scalable software specifications
- Drive consensus and roadmap alignment across Engineering, R&D, Commercial, Quality, and Regulatory teams through influence rather than formal authority
- Partner with Quality and Regulatory to ensure compliance with FDA design controls, IEC 62304, HIPAA, and other relevant standards
- Own product backlogs and drive Agile ceremonies to ensure timely delivery of high-quality features
- Regularly shadow operations and engage with customers to ensure software solves real-world clinical and operational problems
- Pioneer the use of LLMs and generative AI tools to accelerate product discovery and requirements synthesis
- Mentor Senior Product Managers and cross-functional team members on product management best practices
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of product management experience in high-scale software or biotech environments, operating at Director-level seniority
- Proven track record building and launching new software products from the ground up in startup or internal incubator settings
- Deep experience in highly regulated environments with FDA design controls, HIPAA, IEC 62304, or ISO standards; exposure to HealthTech, MedTech, or genomics highly advantageous
- Strong technical aptitude to understand complex architectures (APIs, microservices, LIMS, data platforms, event-driven systems) and communicate effectively with engineering teams
- Hands-on experience using LLMs and generative AI tools to accelerate product workflows and requirements generation
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence executive-level stakeholders
- BS/MS in a relevant technical, scientific, or quantitative discipline; MBA or equivalent experience is a plus
- High agency and technical initiative—you thrive in fluid environments, chart paths forward amid unknowns, and drive product decisions proactively
- Deep systems-level cognition with ability to trace how upstream changes impact downstream clinical reporting
- Cross-functional leadership through influence, driving alignment without formal authority
