Norwegian Tech Linguistic Tester

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology localization organization seeking a Norwegian Tech Linguistic Tester for a remote position. Our client delivers language services and multilingual content solutions across global markets, working with major technology brands to ensure their products resonate with international audiences.

In this role, you'll be proofreading and editing content already localized to Norwegian, ensuring accuracy across grammar, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, consistency, and cultural appropriateness. You'll also translate content from English to Norwegian and test user interfaces for functional issues across various digital products and platforms.

Responsibilities

• Proofread and edit Norwegian-language content, identifying errors in grammar, typos, syntax, punctuation, and consistency
• Translate content from English to Norwegian when required
• Perform quality assurance testing on software, mobile applications, and documentation by following detailed test cases
• Write and report bugs and defects using internal tracking systems and client-specific tools
• Evaluate translations within the context of software and mobile apps, ensuring linguistic and functional accuracy
• Serve as a subject matter expert for Norwegian linguistic issues, researching and resolving language questions
• Adhere to project-specific quality standards, style guides, glossaries, and client-preferred checklists
• Troubleshoot basic technical problems and escalate testing issues as needed
• Manage and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high quality standards

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Native-level Norwegian fluency (both spoken and written) with deep cultural awareness of Norway
• Strong English skills, both written and verbal
• 3+ years of professional translation and localization experience
• Up-to-date knowledge of current technical language usage in Norwegian
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with Android and iOS operating systems
• Basic knowledge of PC hardware (desktop and laptop) and smartphones (iPhone or Android)
• Experience with consumer devices providing messaging, health, fitness, calendar, and organizational utilities
• Active user of social media platforms with strong familiarity with current Norwegian trends
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Strong problem-solving abilities and time management skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment
• Candidates with localization QA experience or advanced computer skills preferred
