AI Engineer (m/w/d) Dealflow

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential private equity organization seeking an AI Engineer to build and own their dealflow intelligence platform. You will develop the AI-powered product that continuously identifies and prioritizes mid-market software and technology companies in the DACH region, helping the investment team connect with attractive targets before broad sale processes begin.

Your responsibilities include:

• Building and maintaining the AI product that powers deal origination, continuously improving it through iteration and feedback
• Developing screening and prioritization logic for investment targets, systematically enhancing match quality
• Implementing automated data acquisition and enrichment pipelines to surface firmographics and ownership structures
• Creating workflows to detect intent signals and potential sale interest from target companies
• Designing automated multichannel outreach processes and refining underlying engagement workflows
• Building dashboards and reports for funnel metrics, activity tracking, and conversion analysis to support pipeline reviews
• Evaluating prospecting and sourcing tools, developing outreach sequences and messaging libraries

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone who has shipped production tools and automation, not just demos or prototypes. The ideal candidate brings:

• 2-3+ years of experience building scalable data and AI-based products or tools in production environments
• Strong Python development skills with production deployment experience using Docker on Azure
• Hands-on expertise with both relational and NoSQL databases, with ability to design sustainable data models independently
• Practical experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude) and understanding of evaluation methods to ensure quality outputs
• Experience working with CRM data and deep understanding of data quality and structure requirements; knowledge of Pipedrive, agent systems, and frameworks like LangGraph is a plus
• Commercial thinking: you understand what makes a target relevant and measure yourself by results
• Degree in Business Informatics, Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or comparable STEM field
• Fluent German and English language skills
