Director – International Relations and Diplomacy Programs

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential international higher education institution seeking a Director of International Relations and Diplomacy Programs based in Paris. This is a strategic academic leadership role overseeing undergraduate, graduate, and online programs across multiple campuses. You will shape curriculum, manage faculty, and drive student success while ensuring accreditation compliance and educational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead program design, review, and continuous improvement for International Relations and Diplomacy offerings across all delivery modes and campus locations
• Assess and develop program and course learning outcomes in collaboration with academic teams
• Identify, hire, and evaluate qualified faculty for International Relations and Diplomacy courses; conduct course observations and support faculty development
• Provide academic leadership at the Paris campus, including faculty hiring, course allocations, and academic operations coordination
• Monitor student outcomes data, identify at-risk students, and design retention and success interventions
• Collaborate with employability teams to enhance career readiness and employment outcomes for graduates
• Ensure compliance with U.S. accreditation standards, local regulatory requirements, and partner agreements
• Support the expansion of distance learning master's programs in the discipline
• Innovate teaching methodologies and integrate educational technology in partnership with relevant teams
• Manage faculty workload and assignment processes in collaboration with academic leaders

What We're Looking For

• Earned Doctorate in International Relations, Diplomacy, or closely related field from an accredited institution (or near completion)
• Proven experience in higher education administration and academic program management
• Demonstrated excellence in academic program design, review, and faculty supervision
• Strong commitment to student support, engagement, and success
• Knowledge and experience with distance learning and online instruction
• Familiarity with American and/or French higher education systems preferred
• Native English speaker or proficiency-level English competency required
• French, German, or Spanish language skills desirable
• Strong intercultural communication skills, leadership ability, and focus on quality and continuous improvement
• Demonstrated capacity for innovation, change management, and strategic vision
