Senior DevOps Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential construction technology organization that has developed innovative solutions used on major projects worldwide. As they scale internationally, they need a Senior DevOps Engineer to take ownership of the cloud infrastructure powering their platform.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role with broad ownership across cloud and platform infrastructure. You'll work closely with Engineering, Data, and Security teams to build reliable, scalable infrastructure while improving how developers deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot their services. The position is based in London on a hybrid basis, requiring 3 days per week in the office.

Responsibilities

• Architect, maintain and evolve Microsoft Azure infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters
• Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, ARM templates and Helm
• Design and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for fast, safe and repeatable deployments
• Build observability across infrastructure and services through monitoring, logging, alerting and distributed tracing
• Improve platform reliability, scalability and performance through capacity planning, autoscaling and resource optimization
• Build and maintain disaster recovery, backup and failover strategies
• Strengthen infrastructure security including network policies, secrets management and platform hardening
• Establish and improve incident response processes, on-call practices, runbooks and post-mortems
• Work with the Data team to support reliable PostgreSQL and MongoDB environments
• Build self-service tooling, templates and documentation that empower engineering teams
• Support infrastructure for data pipelines and AI/ML model deployment
• Partner directly with developers on deployment, troubleshooting and infrastructure best practices

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Demonstrable in-depth experience in DevOps, Infrastructure or Cloud Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
• Deep experience with Kubernetes, including cluster design, networking, storage, upgrades and troubleshooting
• Strong Infrastructure-as-Code experience using Terraform, ARM templates or equivalent
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines, ideally with GitHub Actions
• Strong experience with containers and Docker
• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, alerting and observability in production environments
• Good knowledge of infrastructure security, including network segmentation, encryption, secrets management and audit logging
• Experience building automation and tooling using Python, Go, Bash or TypeScript
• Strong troubleshooting skills and experience owning production infrastructure and incidents
• Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions and clearly explain infrastructure trade-offs

Bonus qualifications:

• Strong AWS or GCP experience transferable to Azure environments
• Experience with high-availability infrastructure
• PostgreSQL or MongoDB experience
• AI/ML infrastructure or ETL/data pipeline experience
• FinOps or SOC 2/ISO 27001 environment experience
