Logistics Commercial Manager

Confidential Employer is seeking a Logistics Commercial Manager to join our team in Johannesburg, Gauteng. This is a full-time position focused on driving commercial excellence across our logistics operations.

About This Position

As Logistics Commercial Manager, you'll bridge commercial strategy and logistics delivery, optimising costs, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance across our supply chain network. Based in Johannesburg, Gauteng, you'll take ownership of commercial performance and profitability metrics whilst collaborating with operations, procurement, and finance teams. This role offers the opportunity to shape commercial strategy, identify competitive advantages, and deliver measurable business outcomes through strategic logistics management.

Core Duties

• Manage supplier and vendor relationships, including contract negotiation, compliance monitoring, and performance evaluation
• Identify and implement cost optimisation opportunities across logistics operations and supply chain activities
• Oversee procurement processes, ensuring adherence to company policies and applicable regulatory requirements
• Develop, track, and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics commercial performance
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders across operations, finance, and management to align commercial objectives with operational needs
• Analyse logistics spend patterns, identify inefficiencies, and propose strategic improvements to enhance profitability
• Prepare commercial reports and forecasting analyses to support strategic decision-making

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in logistics commercial roles, supply chain management, or procurement within a similar environment
• Strong contract negotiation, vendor management, and supplier relationship building skills
• Proficiency in cost analysis, budgeting, financial reporting, and commercial metrics
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities
• In-depth knowledge of logistics operations, supply chain processes, and industry standards
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead cross-functional projects, and drive initiatives to completion
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail
• Proficiency with standard office software and logistics or ERP systems is advantageous
