Senior Software Engineer – Go

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization that serves thousands of software companies globally. Our client operates mission-critical financial infrastructure processing significant transaction volumes, and we're seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Go expertise to join their engineering team.

This is a remote opportunity available to candidates based in Ireland, Portugal, or the UK.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, highly reliable systems that power core platform capabilities
• Lead implementation of key features from initial concept and planning through to monitoring and ongoing improvement
• Architect solutions that scale with growing transaction volumes and customer base
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code while setting high standards for code quality
• Lead design discussions and architecture decisions, balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, Data teams, Risk, and Operations to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
• Shape product direction by providing technical insights, trade-offs, and delivery estimates
• Partner with Customer Support and Operations teams to investigate and resolve production issues
• Mentor other engineers and lead technical planning of team initiatives
• Drive best practices and contribute to engineering culture

What We're Looking For

• Strong development background with Go programming language
• Experience designing and building systems to handle high traffic at scale in cloud-based environments, particularly AWS
• Strong understanding of API principles and best practices
• Deep knowledge of the development process from design through deployment, maintenance, and day-to-day development implications
• Proven track record of bias for action and strong customer focus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Demonstrated success working with complex problems and ambiguity while maintaining high standards
• Proactive approach to improving code and team processes
