Senior Algorithm Engineer

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential health technology organization that is advancing precision diagnostics and therapeutic development through biosignal analysis. We are seeking a Senior Algorithm Engineer to join their Paris-based team in a primarily remote capacity.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of machine learning, neuroscience, and medical device development. You'll collaborate with data scientists, clinicians, and engineers to build and deploy algorithms that analyze complex physiological data for sleep, neurological, and psychiatric applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead the complete algorithm development lifecycle for medical devices, from requirements gathering through data curation, development, validation, production deployment, and maintenance
• Select and implement the most appropriate analytical methods for each challenge, balancing deep learning techniques with traditional approaches where more effective
• Enhance internal machine learning tools and frameworks to improve team productivity, introduce novel architectures, and enable rapid experimentation through reusable components
• Establish and propagate best practices for algorithm implementation including comprehensive testing, documentation, CI/CD pipelines, and non-regression testing
• Present technical results to stakeholders and support their understanding of algorithm capabilities for client engagement
• Contribute to client-facing projects to understand real-world impact and shape future algorithm development priorities

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of industry experience in machine learning and deep learning, particularly within health sciences or other regulated environments, with demonstrated success deploying algorithms to production
• Strong foundation in digital signal processing (DSP) and statistics, with judgment to select the right analytical approach beyond default ML/DL solutions
• Proficiency with PyTorch or similar deep learning frameworks for model training, development, and deployment
• Familiarity with current deep learning advances including Transformers, Vision Transformers, large-scale modeling, and distributed training techniques
• Commitment to software and ML engineering best practices: testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, containerization, CI/CD, and experiment tracking
• Experience with or enthusiasm for biosignals, medical imaging data, or large-scale time-series datasets
• Collaborative mindset with strong communication skills for presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
• Interest in the full algorithm lifecycle spanning scoping, data preparation, experimentation, formal validation, regulatory documentation, and client collaboration
