Senior Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their Cloud Development team. In this role, you will play a central part in empowering development teams through platform engineering excellence.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Apply software engineering best practices to design clean, robust, and maintainable code that creates abstraction layers above cloud infrastructure
• Develop and industrialize APIs, internal tools, and infrastructure modules using Python and Go
• Consume and orchestrate serverless services and modernize deployment tooling
• Design, test, and deploy infrastructure consistently and automatically using Terraform
• Build and optimize modern CI/CD pipelines (preferably with GitHub Actions) integrating DevSecOps security standards from the design phase
• Automate recurring tasks through scripting (Python, Bash) to reduce manual effort and maximize reliability
• Collaborate closely with Network, Security, and Database teams to ensure smooth, performant, and secure integrations
• Serve as Run Captain, handling level 2/3 support, incident analysis, and service requests to ensure operational stability
• Contribute to defining and respecting SLO/SLI metrics and reducing MTTR by automating resolution of recurring issues
• Write clean technical documentation and user guides to facilitate adoption of platform services
• Train and educate technical teams on best practices for using developed components
• Participate in agile delivery management through JIRA and promote knowledge sharing within the team

What We're Looking For

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in Python development with solid mastery of modern software engineering practices
• Cloud Expertise: Strong skills and proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Infrastructure as Code: Proficiency in Terraform and excellent hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines (ideally GitHub Actions)
• Scripting & Serverless: Strong knowledge of automation (Python, Bash) and serverless/event-driven architecture
• Languages: Fluent English (written and spoken), minimum B2 level
• Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, strong sense of internal customer satisfaction, rigor in documentation, and ability to solve complex problems
• Valued Plus: Knowledge of Go language, experience with Google Workflows, or GCP certification (Associate Cloud Engineer or Professional Cloud Developer)
