Staff Backend Engineer, Integrations

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential streaming advertising technology company in their search for a Staff Backend Engineer, Integrations based in Paris. Our client operates at the intersection of performance marketing and connected TV, building infrastructure that enables precision targeting and measurement at scale.

This is a senior individual contributor role on the Integrations team—the engine that connects their platform to external CRMs, CDPs, measurement vendors, and data partners. You'll report to an Engineering Manager and help shape the technical direction of a team building a public-facing Developer Platform that external partners are already integrating with.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement production-grade integrations with external platforms including CRMs, customer data platforms, measurement vendors, and data partners
• Own integration projects end-to-end with full accountability, from scoping through production deployment
• Drive the architecture of a public API covering account, advertiser, and campaign management endpoints built for external partner use
• Build developer-facing documentation, monitoring, and tooling that delivers a high-quality integration experience
• Contribute to gateway and authentication infrastructure that exposes platform capabilities securely
• Identify weaknesses in existing data pipelines and lead architectural improvements
• Set code quality standards through thorough technical reviews that elevate team output
• Leverage AI-augmented development tools to accelerate delivery and establish best practices for the team
• Participate in cross-team architectural decisions as the Integrations function scales
• Partner with engineering leadership on technical direction and calibration as the team grows

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 8+ years building production backend systems including APIs, data pipelines, and distributed services at scale
• Strong production TypeScript backend development experience
• Track record of owning major technical projects from inception through delivery, not just contributing to others' work
• Hands-on AWS and Terraform experience with real architectural decision-making responsibility
• High-ownership background from startup, scale-up, or environments where complex problems required direct resolution
• Ability to work cross-functionally with product managers and external partners to define technical requirements

Preferred qualifications:

• Direct experience building third-party integrations: ETL pipelines, webhooks, REST or GraphQL APIs
• Polyglot development background including Python, C++, or Rust alongside TypeScript
• Experience designing or contributing to developer-facing platforms or public APIs
• Startup or scale-up experience (approximately 300 people or fewer), either current or past roles

Pay

This role is based in Paris with hybrid flexibility (in-office three days per week). The position includes variable compensation based on objective achievement, full health coverage, meal vouchers, and annual team offsites.
