We are representing a confidential aerospace organization based in Ottobrunn, Bavaria, seeking an AIT Operations Engineer - Launch Vehicle to join their Assembly, Integration, and Testing team.
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and optimize launch vehicle AIT workflows
- Manage operational interfaces with Testing, Logistics, and Quality Assurance teams
- Manage and improve the vehicle integration timeline
- Create efficient tooling to plan, monitor, and optimize launcher integration activities
- Participate in and drive engineering change management processes from initial change request through final hardware implementation on flight and non-flight systems
- Serve as a key contributor to the non-conformance process by assessing criticality, defining scope of impact, and developing/validating corrective and preventive actions
- Act as AIT representative to internal stakeholders including Design Engineering, Launch Operations, and Production teams
- Identify, lead, and implement internal process improvements aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing rework, and strengthening data flow within AIT
- Ensure safe execution of launcher integration activities by implementing PPE, ESD, and HSE rules
- Develop and realize concepts for AIT facilities across multiple sites
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- BSc/MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar discipline
- Strong drive for continuous improvement and excellent communication skills
- Experience in bottleneck analysis, line balancing methods, and OEE calculation
- Extensive experience in project management including setup, maintenance, and reporting of timelines, KPIs, and processes
- Experience in assembly and testing of complex systems (medical, aerospace, automotive, or similar industries)
- Clean, organized, and structured working style
- Basic knowledge in Python, C++, or similar programming languages
- Basic knowledge of CAD software
- Fluent in English
Bonus skills:
- Basic understanding of common aerospace systems (mechanics, avionics, pressurized systems, engines)
