Supply Chain Management Specialist / Transport Logistics (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential aerospace organization seeking a Supply Chain Management Specialist / Transport Logistics professional in Ottobrunn, Bavaria. In this role, you will drive the efficient movement of goods and materials across national and international locations, ensuring seamless logistics operations.

Your core responsibilities will include:

• Planning, directing, and coordinating the transportation, storage, and distribution of goods and services nationally and internationally
• Scheduling timely transportation services and monitoring shipments to ensure on-time delivery
• Selecting appropriate transport modes and arranging logistics with carriers, brokers, and freight forwarders for land, sea, and air freight
• Negotiating contract terms with drivers and vendors to secure favorable agreements
• Generating, processing, and administering detailed transportation documents and invoices with full traceability for audit purposes
• Tracking transportation budgets and expenses while maintaining cost targets and monitoring service provider performance
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining transportation policies and procedures in compliance with industry regulations and shipping requirements
• Establishing priorities, tracking assignments, and ensuring resource availability for efficient operations
• Maintaining schedules and deadlines for all transport activities
• Collaborating with loading and warehouse personnel to meet shipment goals and optimize logistics processes

What We're Looking For

Our client requires candidates with the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
• Proven experience in transport organization, logistics, or freight purchasing (national and international)
• Strong understanding of transportation regulations and industry standards across land, sea, and air freight
• Experience with contract negotiation and vendor management
• Solid knowledge of customs procedures, export/import processes, export control regulations, and handling of dangerous goods
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and cost optimization capabilities
• Effective communication skills in English (written and spoken)
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners
• Problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach

Bonus qualifications:

• Proficiency in using logistics and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
• German language skills
