Senior Legal Counsel (m/w/d) – Perspektive General Counsel

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential mobility technology company in München for a Senior Legal Counsel position with a clear development pathway to General Counsel within 18 months.

You will assume an established legal function, reporting directly to the Chairman. During a structured handover, you will take ownership of existing legal processes and structures, then develop them further as the organization grows and expands internationally. You will serve as the central legal point of contact for executive leadership and all business units.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Providing comprehensive legal advice to executive leadership and business units across corporate law, commercial law, contract law, competition law, civil law, and employment law
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating national and international contracts in German and English; managing the contract management function
• Supporting corporate matters including financing rounds, transactions, due diligence processes, and corporate structure changes
• Preparing and supporting board and shareholder activities
• Providing legal support for international subsidiaries and market entry initiatives
• Managing terms of service, user agreements, and legal frameworks for app, web, and digital products
• Overseeing data protection compliance and addressing trademark, copyright, and intellectual property matters
• Supporting payment products and business models in collaboration with banks, payment service providers, and other regulated partners
• Assessing legal and regulatory requirements for new products, business models, and markets
• Advising leadership on employment law matters in close collaboration with HR
• Managing legal disputes and selecting, appointing, and supervising external law firms
• Developing legal processes, contract standards, and internal governance structures as the organization scales

What We're Looking For

• Fully qualified lawyer (Volljurist:in) with several years of relevant experience in a corporate legal department and/or commercial law firm
• Broad generalist legal background with strong understanding of business and commercial contexts
• Proven experience independently drafting and negotiating complex contracts
• Ability to clearly assess legal risks while developing pragmatic, business-oriented solutions
• High degree of independence, sense of responsibility, and commitment to seeing matters through to completion
• Confident presence with executive leadership, shareholders, business partners, and external advisors
• Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken; additional languages welcome
• Strong knowledge of data protection law
• Ideally, experience in payment, fintech, mobility, platform, or technology-driven environments
• Interest in developing an existing legal function and assuming full responsibility as General Counsel
