Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential subscription commerce organization seeking a Senior Marketing Data Analyst to join their Pricing Analytics team in Berlin. In this role, you will drive data-informed pricing and discount decisions that directly shape how the business grows and operates across multiple global markets.

You will own price and discount experiments end to end, framing hypotheses, designing tests, launching them through an always-on testing program, and delivering actionable readouts. Your work will include modeling customer responses to price and promotions, including price elasticity, geo-segmented pricing, discount effects, and ML-assisted recommendations.

You will apply causal inference methods such as difference-in-differences, synthetic control, and matching to measure true impact where traditional A/B testing is not feasible. A key part of your role will be shipping analysis as data products—production pipelines and self-serve applications using Databricks, SQL, Python, and Streamlit that stakeholders can use directly.

You will build and enhance reporting and visualization assets that support day-to-day pricing decisions and strengthen performance oversight. Communicating complex technical findings as clear recommendations to commercial leaders without technical backgrounds will be essential. You will collaborate closely with data science, finance, and marketing teams to measure discount impact consistently across revenue and customer profitability metrics.

As the scope of the role grows, you may contribute to measuring, benchmarking, and monitoring brand and market performance, helping inform marketing budgets alongside senior stakeholders. You will also mentor analysts within the team, championing scalable, automated, and reproducible ways of working.

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a motivated, collaborative professional with strong team-working skills and a passion for solving complex business problems. You should have 4+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or a related quantitative field, ideally in a fast-paced B2C or subscription business.

Strong SQL and Python skills are required—you must be comfortable owning an analysis end to end. You should have a solid foundation in experimental design and A/B testing, including how to size tests and choose primary and guardrail metrics. Working knowledge of causal inference and econometrics, including price elasticity, incrementality, and quasi-experimental methods, is essential.

You should bring solid applied statistics and familiarity with common machine-learning methods such as regression, trees, and clustering. Knowledge of uplift or heterogeneous-effects modeling is a plus, along with the judgment to know when a method genuinely helps versus when a simpler approach is better.

A strong understanding of marketing and growth metrics and how they connect to overall business performance is important. You should be comfortable working in a modern data stack, including Databricks, Spark, or a SQL warehouse, and a visualization tool such as Tableau, Looker, Power BI, or apps built in Streamlit.

We are looking for a results-oriented professional with a structured approach who can turn vague or ambiguous business questions into clear analytical frameworks and insights. Proven project ownership and stakeholder management experience, especially in senior or cross-functional settings, is required. Excellent communication skills in English are essential, with the ability to explain analytical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence decision-making.

Nice to have: pricing, discounting, or marketing-analytics domain experience; market insights or market-benchmarking experience supporting senior leadership; Bayesian or hierarchical/mixed-effects modeling; and experience with GenAI or LLM tooling for analytics.
