AI Engineer (m/f/x)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking an AI Engineer to own AI capabilities end-to-end. You will build production-grade systems that bridge models, data, orchestration, and user interfaces—not coordinate teams to do it, but do it yourself.

In this role, you will:

• Build agent loops and orchestration including tool use, structured outputs, business-rule enforcement, and graceful failure handling
• Develop integration layers that allow agents to securely call backend systems and business APIs
• Render model output into live, streamed, accessible UI via generative-UI protocols
• Ground models in real data through retrieval, embeddings, and closed feedback loops
• Treat evaluations as a first-class system, delivering provable improvement rather than intuition-based results
• Take capabilities from prototype to measured, guard-railed production features that serve real users

What We're Looking For

You are a full-stack engineer who has shipped and operated complete applications in production. Backend, frontend, data, and ML are not separate disciplines you delegate—they are tools you use daily. You engineer around model uncertainty rather than conduct research.

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years shipping production software
• 2+ years building with LLMs in production serving real users, not demos
• Proven experience shipping full-stack applications end-to-end: frontend through backend to deployment and operations
• Hands-on experience with generative or agent-driven UI protocols (A2UI, AG-UI, MCP-UI, or similar)
• Strong foundation in prompt/context engineering, agents, tool use, structured outputs, evaluations, and MCP
• Proficiency in Python and TypeScript/Node with React; comfortable with async, streaming, and observability
• Working fluency with retrieval/embeddings and SQL

Nice to have:

• Experience with fine-tuning or distillation
• Background in e-commerce or marketplace systems
• Track record in zero-to-one product development

This is a full-time hybrid position based in München, Bayern.
