Backend Software Engineer – AI Finance Agent

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization that is building next-generation financial infrastructure. Our talent team is searching for a Backend Software Engineer to help build core systems for an AI-powered financial platform serving millions of users across multiple markets.

This is a remote role based in Ireland. You must already be located in Ireland to be considered.

Responsibilities

• Build backend services, APIs and workflows for consumer financial applications
• Support products across insurance, payments, wallet, savings, investing, travel and financial services
• Design reliable systems for user accounts, transactions, partner integrations, reconciliation, notifications and operations
• Collaborate with product and mobile teams to deliver customer-facing journeys
• Integrate with banks, payment gateways, insurers, data providers and third-party partners
• Improve system reliability, observability, security and performance
• Build systems that are auditable and compliant for regulated financial products

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, databases, system design and production debugging
• Experience building scalable services and integrating third-party systems
• Solid understanding of security, reliability, data quality and operational edge cases
• Ability to make practical trade-offs between speed, quality and risk
• Comfortable working with product, mobile, operations and business teams
• Experience in fintech, payments, insurance, lending, banking or regulated products is a strong advantage
• Strong English communication skills required
