About This Opportunity
Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential higher education institution seeking an Assistant Vice Provost for Accreditation & Accreditation Liaison Officer. This is a critical leadership role overseeing all institutional and programmatic accreditation, state authorization, and licensure compliance activities across multiple states and campuses.
This position will direct a dedicated team and serve as the institution's official liaison to institutional and programmatic accrediting bodies, providing strategic guidance to executive leadership on regulatory compliance matters.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all institutional and programmatic accreditation efforts across multiple campuses and delivery modalities
- Serve as the official Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) to the institutional accreditor, managing the relationship including reaffirmation, annual reporting, and substantive change processes
- Direct a portfolio of 30+ concurrent programmatic accreditation relationships with bodies such as APA, CACREP, COAMFTE, CEPH, and others
- Oversee state authorization and reauthorization compliance across all states where the institution operates, including both NC-SARA and direct state-by-state processes
- Manage institutional licensure compliance activities, including audits and disclosures to state licensing boards
- Monitor U.S. Department of Education policy and regulatory changes to ensure ongoing compliance
- Coordinate all mock site visits and accreditor site visits across institutional and programmatic accreditation activities
- Advise executive leadership on changes affecting accrediting bodies and state/local approving entities
- Manage and develop a team of functional coordinators covering accreditation, licensure, and state authorizations
- Develop and deliver institution-wide training on accreditation standards and criteria
- Maintain comprehensive timelines and documentation for all accreditation, licensure, and state authorization activities
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree or professional terminal degree
- Five or more years of progressively responsible academic administrative experience in regulatory and compliance areas
- Direct experience with institutional accreditation (specifically WSCUC) and programmatic accreditation in higher education
- Direct experience and knowledge of state authorization requirements, including NC-SARA and non-NC-SARA processes
- Direct experience and knowledge of licensure regulations and state licensing boards
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance processes affecting higher education
- Excellent writing, verbal, research, organizational, and analytical skills
- Presentation experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience serving on institutional accreditor peer review teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programmatic accreditation relationships
- Experience with direct state-by-state authorization processes and the State Authorization Network (SAN)
- Experience providing written and oral reports on assessment plans, strategies, and results
- Experience conducting faculty and staff seminars on accreditation and assessment topics
- Proficiency with quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Higher education teaching experience
