About This Opportunity
We are representing a fast-growing digital insurance provider that is transforming how customers experience motor insurance across multiple European markets. Our client has built a data-driven, technology-first platform that serves millions of customers, and they are now expanding their engineering capabilities in London.
As part of their core engineering function, you will join a team of over 350 technologists focused on building scalable machine learning solutions that power intelligent decision-making across their insurance platform. This is a chance to work on production ML systems that directly impact business outcomes and customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Define model development methodologies and best practices throughout the complete machine learning lifecycle, with ownership over the technological stack
- Support the productionalization and continuous evolution of ML-powered services that drive intelligent behavior across the microservices architecture
- Develop essential tools including packages, microservices, and pipelines to enable efficient ML engineering workflows
- Stay current with emerging technologies through continuous learning, research, and experimentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, impactful ML solutions
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Strong programming background with expertise in Python
- Hands-on experience with the complete ML model development lifecycle, including taking models to production
- Proficiency in software development practices including Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD)
- Solid experience in software architecture with understanding of common design patterns, particularly in Machine Learning, Microservices, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
- Excellent English language communication skills
Preferred:
- Experience with version control of data and artifacts (DeltaLake, DVC, MLFlow)
- Cloud-based systems design and operations, particularly AWS or Databricks
- Familiarity with messaging platforms
- Infrastructure as code expertise (Terraform, CloudFormation, Pulumi)
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and service mesh concepts
- Experience with data orchestration tools
