Senior Cloud Consultant – Data & AI Engineer (f/m/d, 4-Days-Week), German Speaking

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AWS consulting organization seeking a Senior Cloud Consultant specializing in Data & AI Engineering. This is a unique opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of cloud architecture projects while working a 4-day week in München.

Our client is an award-winning cloud partner that guides organizations through their entire cloud transformation journey. You'll design and deliver scalable data platforms and generative AI solutions from initial architecture workshops through to production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of scalable AWS architectures for data platforms and generative AI / agentic AI solutions
• Ensure security, performance, reliability, and cost optimization following AWS Well-Architected principles
• Make architecture decisions with clear trade-offs and documentation that enables team collaboration
• Translate business requirements into measurable technical specifications and clear objectives
• Develop generative AI and agentic AI solutions on AWS Bedrock using modern frameworks
• Build agent architectures with tool integration, multi-step orchestration, and defined scope boundaries
• Implement human-in-the-loop patterns including approval steps and review workflows
• Establish evaluation and quality assurance processes for LLM and agent systems
• Participate in technical pre-sales activities, project scoping, and statement of work creation
• Serve as trusted technical advisor to clients, translating complex technology into business value
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to internal standards and best practices

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years in cloud, data, software, or ML engineering, with 2+ years owning end-to-end architectures
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services and solutions
• Solid experience in data engineering and ETL architecture design
• Proven track record with generative AI and agentic AI projects
• Excellent Python programming skills
• Fluent English and professional-level German required

Preferred:

• AWS certifications
• Experience in pre-sales or technical leadership roles
• Background in consulting or client-facing project delivery
• Experience with AWS Connect
• Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform or similar)
• LLM customization, fine-tuning, and distillation experience
• Practical MLOps experience including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Kafka or streaming data experience
