Junior System Engineer Microsoft 365 und Automatisierung (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential professional services organization seeking a Junior System Engineer to support their Microsoft 365, Azure, and identity infrastructure environments. In this role, you will contribute to platform administration, process automation, and technical project implementation.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Supporting the operation and development of Microsoft 365, Azure, and Entra ID environments, including hybrid identity and directory services
• Assisting with user synchronization, permissions management, and implementation of MFA and Conditional Access policies
• Administering Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects
• Supporting Exchange infrastructure administration—both on-premises and online—including mail flow, connectors, and migrations
• Analyzing manual processes and implementing automation solutions using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and REST APIs
• Developing and maintaining scripts and workflows for user provisioning, modifications, and offboarding processes
• Troubleshooting synchronization, authentication, and permission issues while providing 2nd and 3rd level support
• Contributing to IT projects and migrations in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external service providers
• Maintaining comprehensive technical documentation

What We're Looking For

Our client seeks a motivated early-career professional with foundational Microsoft platform experience and a strong interest in automation and system engineering.

Required qualifications:

• Practical experience administering Microsoft 365, Azure, or Entra ID
• Foundational knowledge of Active Directory, hybrid identity environments, and Exchange
• Strong PowerShell skills with demonstrated interest in automation
• Ideally, initial experience with Microsoft Graph and REST APIs
• Interest in planning and executing IT and migration projects
• Experience analyzing and resolving synchronization, authentication, and permission issues
• Self-directed, structured, and solution-oriented working style with excellent communication skills
• Very strong German language skills (C1 level or equivalent) for reliable internal communication

Preferred qualifications:

• Knowledge of Exchange on-premises and hybrid Exchange scenarios
• Familiarity with SQL, LDAP, PKI, or additional programming languages
• Experience with incident, change, and problem management following ITIL frameworks

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Hamburg with flexible working arrangements including up to two days per week remote work. The role offers 40 hours per week with immediate availability preferred.
